Wizards

I've made them into Creatures for this world and its purposes. They're living magic, not an uncommon sight. Where wizards differ from most other living and sapient magic is that wizards are incredibly stable. Most living magic ceases to exist before it even realizes it does, let alone before it can move around of its own accord. To elaborate upon what "magic" is referring to, and as such what using it means; Magic is energy produced from the interaction of the physical and nonphysical worlds. Be it through some manner of spirit walking through what would to us be a solid wall, or through some fellow suddenly climbing an invisible staircase. Magic can be manipulated by anything that exists in either world and is aware of the other, which takes a lifetime of training and a great deal of mental fortitude. Humans can use magic via channelling it though Meanings, typically symbols and sounds. Whereas magical creatures can channel it directly through themselves, like moving a limb. (in some cases the magic is moving a limb)

Most wizards are Created, but older ones mutated from enchantments and lingering spells (curses became something else but I'll speak on that later). Wizards, as stable living magic, are in the uncommon position of comfortably existing near-fully in both worlds simultaneously, and can affect and be affected by both. The ease of this interaction varies on which theyre focusing on at the moment. Some wizard cultures decide to exist solely in one world or the other, for myriad reasons.

Wizards have widely varied appearances in body plan alone, but generally fall into the categories of both humanoid and human-sized. In regards to the humanoid wizards, it's incredibbly common for them to have "off" or "peculiar" proportions that make it hard for them to pass as human should they attempt to. Wizards also generally have dark "skin" (skin being in quotes here due to it being the same material the entire way through), often blending into the shadows of their garb. However, their eyes and teeth are luminous, not exactly glowing but they stand out against the rest of the wizard and can be seen clearly even in the dark. Wizards also, despite having external features that might imply them, do not have internal organs. this does not mean theyre solid all the way through though, as its common for mouths to have "throats" regardless of placement. While a number of these features arent required for certain functions they most certainly enhance them, a wizard without a mouth can still eat, but a wizard with one can taste what theyre eating, for example.
